lost connection

Every 30 minutes I receive a message "VKernel appliance (192.168.40.103) has lost connection with 192.168.41.30" via email. I have looked but don't see what could be generating this message. Anyone know what this could be? I am able to login to Vkernel 4.1 just fine.

  • This alert goes off whenever our appliance has difficulty connecting to vCenter, rather than losing general network connectivity. It's possible that there's a slow response time coming to vOPS from vCenter and triggering this alert.
    Definitely consult this troubleshooting guide for networking problems first:

    But if it seems like the alert might be a false-positive (as in data is still looking up-to-date in vOPS despite the alert) then you can disable this alert in the Notifications tab within the settings of the appliance. (Gear icon in the upper-right corner.)
