How do I change the IP address of my VKernel vOPS appliance?

Trying to figure out how to change the IP address of my appliance in the console. Any help?

Hi Gerard,

Welcome to the VKernel community!

We have built in a script that will run through the network configuration of the appliance. Here is the location:

/usr/local/vkernel/scripts/changeIp.sh

Please note that it is case-sensitive. Let us know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

Once we change the IP, where can i update the config to in vsphere for the vkernel integration plugin? There is an error now in our vsphere installation where its trying to connect to the old ip.

  Click “content”
  Click “extension manager”
  Find the extension in the list and click on it
  Copy its key name (I believe without quotes).
  Go “back” one page in the browser and click “unregister extension.”
  In the popup window, paste in the CMS extension’s key name and click ‘invoke method’
  Restart your VI client and it should be gone.
  
  Now you can go into CMS/vOPS and add it back in as normal.

  The plug-in was installed when installing vscope explorer. How can i add it back?

  Just click back on the checkbox under Settings->Environment for the vCenter server, and provided that sufficient rights exist on the service account, the vCenter plugin will be added back in.
